One hundred steps for better health

People who walk for exercise should aim for 100 steps a minute to ensure their workout is intense enough, according to researchers.
Many people who want to keep fit use a pedometer to keep tract of how many steps they take.
But the device gives no information on how intensely they’re exercising – that is whether their heart rate is raised enough to boost fitness.
In the new study, researchers found that the average walkers should aim 100 steps a minute to get a moderate intensity workout.
Experts recommend adults get at least 30 minutes of moderate activity five times a week.
If 30 minutes are achieved in a session, that means taking 3000 steps a session.
But the researchers point out in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, walkers can also break those steps down into several shorter exercise sessions during the day.
Because health benefits can be archived with bouts of exercise lasting at least 10 minutes, a useful starting point is to try to accumulate 1000 steps in 10 3000 steps in 30 minutes according to the lead researcher.
A simple pedometer and a wristwatch offered walkers a way to ensure they are working out intensely enough.
By the way, have you heart about Colonix colon cleansing kit? Colon cleansing kit that is impressively packaged and marketed. Colonix requires a strict (and unneccesary) regime that can be avoided with other similar products. It seems as the the Colonix kit includes unnecessary ingredients like KleriTea and Paranil that jack up the price of the “Colonix experience” and bring some very unpleasant side effects to the table.

  3. Think that pedometers are very motivating when it comes to walking as a way to stay in shape. I know lots of people who started walking on a regular basis just because they were excited that they can see exact results of their walking exercise by using pedometer.
