The beginning of wisdom

To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.
God does not ask you to be successful:
God does ask you to be faithful. Put your vocation ahead of your career.
Come follow me, says the Lord,
and I will make you fishers of my people.

Spirit and Life

The word of God becomes the flesh of God when YOU live it in your life. Believe what you read; live what you believe. Be another Christ.
Your words, Lord, are spirit and life. You’re sent to bring the Good New to the poor, and freedom to prisoners.

Wedding at Cana

The miracle at Cana was almost a secret one; at the time the only people who knew it to be a miracle were the servants who were the water out. But what did strike home was the sheer abundance of the new wine. That was the sign that confirmed the disciples in their new following. [...]

The Epiphany

The magi gave the child Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Why did they bring Him gifts? These gifts were not in recognition of what he wanted, but of who He was. We can only see this, though, if we sit still. As the poet T.S. Eliot wrote, “Teach [...]

The act of serving

When Jesus says, “If you wish to rank first, you must remain the last one of all the servant of all,” many people could immediately turn and walk away. Are you willing to serve as Jesus did? God has called us with the gospel to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. The [...]

Not an easy life

We do not promote an easy life. But then no life worth living is an easy life. Jesus said, “if you wish to come after me, you must deny your very self, take up your cross and follow me.” Pray for the gift of being able to accept your vocation.
‘Gospel for today contains both the [...]

Jesys preached the Good News of the kingdom and healed all who were sick.

Has not God chosen the poor of the world to inherit the kingdom? Chosen to be rich in faith. Take heart, be not afraid, consider your part in God’s Kingdom.
Sunday’s reading celebrate the saving deeds of God. The reading from Isaiah opens with “Fear not,” and then looks to the divine deliverance from exile when [...]
